Express St Ives glaziers replace glass for a variety of reasons. we provide an emergency response service for broken glass repairs where we would board the windows for your security and then replace the glass usually within 48 hours in and around the St Ives area.

Glass for use in St Ives domestic properties typically comes in two varieties; single or double-glazed, with a choice of either float/annealed or toughened glass. Single-glazed windows with float glass can normally be fitted on the same day. Our St Ives glaziers are able to replace glass from either the outside or the inside of properties, if the framework allows it. If required, we can source scaffolding and/or lifting vehicles for high glass installations.

Given a sufficiently large pane of glass, we can manufacture and install a pane of glass, with a hole pre-cut for the flap. We cannot work on existing toughened glass (due to the high tension in the glass), any pressure applied to the glass would cause the destruction of the glass. It is possible to cut normal glass in situ, but as this is at the owner's own risk, it is not recommended. There must be a minimum clearance of 150mm between the edge of the glass, and the edge of the hole of the flap, so the glass is able to go through the toughening process and remain intact.
